Researchers found that a higher concentration of the sex hormone estrogen is associated to a higher risk of cardiac arrest in both men and women. The study was conducted on people in Portland who suffered from cardiac death and coronary artery disease. Tests showed that the estrogen levels were significantly higher in estrogen.
However, this did not prove anything as the said subjects were also suffering from other heart risk factors like diabetes, obesity and high cholesterol.
