A large part of the population nowadays are coffee lovers. As a matter of fact, there are over 400 million cups of coffee consumed every day in the US alone. While coffee is known to be a good antioxidant, a recent study has found that drinking at least 4 cups of coffee per day may put one at a higher death risk as the addiction could lead to several serious health problems. The results of the study showed that people who consumed more than 28 cups of coffee per week have 21% higher mortality risk compared to those who drank less cups of coffee every week. On the other hand, people over 55 years old who drank more than 28 cups of coffee per week have 50% higher mortality risk. Meanwhile, there are still some studies that ought to prove the health benefits of coffee such as lower risk of suicide in adults by 50%.
