A recent study in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine look at an extract of Dillenia suffruticosa in the treatment of breast cancer. The study examined the breast adenocarcinoma cell line MCF-7 to determine if the extract of Dillenia suffruticosa would have any effect.
It was found that Dillenia suffruticosa extract induced cell death of the MCF-7 cells through the modulation of the genes involved in the oxidative stress pathway.
