Premature Babies Need More vitamin D

Preterm infants may need 800 IU vitamin D3

A study has shown that infants born prematurely may need to be given 800 IU of Vitamin D3 to ensure healthy developments of their bones. Preterm infants have higher risk for Vitamin D sufficiency. This may lead to the infants developing rickets, which may result to poor bone strength.
