Red yeast rice ‘safely’ reduces cholesterol levels and inflammatory markers: Italian study


A new study from Italy suggests that the daily consumption of red yeast rice can help lower cholesterol levels, decrease inflammatory markers and lower markers of vascular modeling. The study also further supports the safety and efficacy of the said supplement. Despite these positive associations, researchers from the University of Bologna and Pavia in Italy suggest that the ingredient has not yet been tested in all populations.
