Statin drugs are mostly prescribed to prevent or support cardiovascular diseases. However, a study has shown that one of its many side effects of statin drugs is reducing the amount of coq10 in the body, a substance needed by the body cells as a source of energy for its vital functions. This deficiency, in turn, makes a person more prone to diabetes.
