According to the World Health Organization statistics, HBV, also known as the Hepatitis B virus still remains to be the culprit for nearly 600,000 deaths each year. A group of German researchers suggest that low levels of Vitamin D in the body may lead to a higher risk of Heptatis B. Dr. Christian Lange from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Hospital in Frankfurt confirms that the data show a clear associated between low Vitamin D levels and high HBV concentrations in the blood.
