Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is a member of the Rosceae family. Meadowsweet is found throughout Europe, North America and Asia. The dried or fresh flowers and most of the above-ground parts are used medicinally. It contains tannins and salicin, a plant salicylate. Meadowsweet has stomachic, mild urinary antiseptic, antirheumatic, astringent, and antiacid activities. In traditional medicines, meadowsweet has been used for broncitis and cough.
