Fennel

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a member of the Apiaceae/Umbelliferae family. The Fennel oil, extracted from the ripe fruit, the dried fruit, and the seeds are all used medicinally. Fennel is a rich source of beta-carotene, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Fennel seed also contains a volatile oil made of a large amount of transanethole, as well as fenchone and estragole.

Fennel has been used for cough, broncitis, and dyspeptic complaints, as well as other ailments.The constituents promote healthy functioning of the body.
