Catnip
Catnip, otherwise known as Catmint, Catnep, Catswort, Field Balm, and Menta De Gato, is scientifically named Nepeta cataria. The flowering tops of the plant are used in teas and other herbal formulas. Catnip is used for insomnia, migraine headaches, cold, flu, fever, hives, and gastrointestinal upset, including indigestion, colic, cramping, and flatulaence. Other oral uses of Catnip are anxiety, diuresis, and upper respiratory infections. Topically, Catnip can be used for hemorrhoids, arthritis, and swelling.
