Figwort Aerial Parts

Figwort is known scientifically as Scrophularia nodosa or Scrophularia marilandica. The dried herb collected before flowering, the herb with the root, or just the root alone is used for medicinal purposes. Figwort is found naturally growing in Europe, Central Asia, and North America.

Figwort contains iridoides, including monoterpenes; flavonoids, such as diosmin; tannins, and saponins. Figwort is known for having diuretic and mild laxative effects.
