Sandalwood
Sandalwood (Santalum album) grows wild in India. Although Sandalwood is best known for its exotic fragrance, the essential oil has several medicinal effects. It stimulates the production of urine, loosens bronchial phlegm, and exhibits a drying and disinfectant action. The essential oil is extracted only from the heartwood and the bark. It contains a volatile oil, tannins, and resins. Sandalwood has a disinfecting effect on the urniary tract. As a result, it is often used for inflammation and infections of the urniary tract.
