Red Root

Red root, commonly known as bloodroot, is indigenous to the northeastern United States. Bloodroot is a member of the Papaveraceae family. The roots and rhizome of the plant can be used medicinally. Bloodroot contains isoquinoline alkaloids, resins, and starch. Blood root has been used for a variety of ailments. It has antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and antiplaque effects within the body.
