Devil's Claw

Devil's Claw, or Harpagophytum procumbens, is a member of the Pedaliaceae family and is also commonly known as Wood Spider. Devil's Claw is collected for the tuber. Devil's Claw contains iridoid glycosides constituents such as harpagoside, harpagide, and procumbide. The herb also contains phenylethanol derivatives acteoside, isoaceteoside, and oligosaccharide stachyose. In studies, Devil's Claw has demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects as well as analgesic and choleretic effects. It also increases gastric secretions.

Devil's Claw is generally well tolerated by most people.
