Conjugated Linoleic Acid, CLA, is a naturally occuring fatty acid that can be found in meat and dairy products. Plant Oil is another source of lineolic acid however, the body is not always able to convert the lineolic into CLA in sufficient amounts. CLA actually refers to a group of conjugated dienoic isomers of lineolic acid that includes cis-9, trans-11 lineolic acid and trans-10, cis-12 linoelic acid. These different forms influence the body in unique ways. At the time, CLA is being heavily studied for weight loss in obesity.
