Catechins

Catechins are from the polypehonol family and can be found in a variety of plant sources. The largest source of catechins in the human diet are various teas. Catechins are also part of the classification of flavonoids. Catechins can also be found in chocolates, wine, and vegetables. Catechin demonstrate antioxidant activities.

There are a variety of catechins such as epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin 3-gallate (ECG), and epicatechin (EC).
