Chaparral is used for its leaf and stem. A member of the Zygophyllaceae, Chapparral is scientifically known as Larrea Divaricata; other common names are Creosote Bush, Greasewood, Hediondilla, Jarilla, and Larreastat. Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid (NDGA) is an active constituent of Chaparral.
Chaparral is used for weight loss, as a tonic, antiflatulent, blood purifier for genitourinary and respiratory tract infections, for skin diseases, and as an antiparasitic.
