Eleuthero, commonly known as Siberian Ginseng, is a member of the Araliaceae family. The Latin name is Eleutherococcus senticosus. Eluethero is natively grown in the Taiga region of the Far East. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for many years. In Chinese medicine, Eleuthero is known as Ci Wu Jia.
The roots and the rhizomes are used in herbal formulas. Eleuthero has traditionally been used for energy, vitality, stamina, concentration, and respiratory infections. It is considered an adaptogen. Eleuthero has seven eleutherosides that have been identified as the active constituents.
