DGL, deglycyrrhizinated licorice, is an extract of the true licorice root, Glycrryhiza glabra. DGL increases the number of mucus-secreting cells in the stomach, which in turn helps to protect the stomach from harfmul acids. DGL is free of glycryyhizin.
