Hexacosanol
Hexacosanol belongs to an organic family of compounds called fatty alcohols. It is a long-chain, fatty saturated alcohol related to docosanol, octacosanol, and triacontanol. Hexacosanol is a component of vegetable waxes and is found in wheat germ oil, rice bran oil and wool wax, among other things. Hexacosanol has also been isolated from the plant Hygrophilia erecta, a medicinal herb that grows in India and Vietnam.
