Blue Cohosh

Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) is a member of the Berberidaceae family. It can be found in the damp woods of eastern North America. Both the rhizome and root of blue cohosh can be used in medicinal formulas. Blue cohosh contains quinolizidine alkaloids, isoquioline alkaloids, triterpene, and caulosapogenin. Blue cohosh has been used in Indian medicine and in homeopathic remedies.
