Prickly Ash

Prickly Ash is a member of the Rutaceae family. There are two varieties, Northern and Southern. Prickly Ash root, bark, and berry can be used for medicinal purposes. It contains nitidine, chelerythrine, asarinin, and other alkalods, as well as pyranocoumarins, resins, and volatile oil. Prickly Ash has been used for circulation, cramps, ulcers, sores, toothaches, inflammation, low blood pressure, fever, and rheumatic disorders.
