Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) is a member of the Asteraceae/Compositae family. It can be found in the eastern United States. Boneset dried lead and flowering portion can both be used for medicinal purposes. Boneset contains polysaccharides, flavonoids, and sesquiterpene lactones. Boneset has been used for diuretic and laxative activity. Boneset has also been used in homeopathic remedies for flu.
