Mulberry Root-Bark (Morus alba) is collected in late autumn, after the leaves have fallen off and in early spring before germination. Mulberry is characterized by a sweet taste and fragrance. It is a traditional Chinese medicine. Mulberry is used to purge lung phlegm, ease coughing, promote urination, and relieve edema. Mulberry has respiratory relaxant, urinary sedative and hypotensive properites. The Chinese name of mulberry is Sang Bai Pi.
