Krishna is a variety of Tulsi, or Holy Basil. Krishna (Ocimum sanctum) can be found throughout India. Krishna contains a volatile oil, mainly of eugenol, sesquiterpens, monoterpenes, methyleugenol, camphene, ursolic acid, campesterol, stigmasterol, and methyl esters of fatty acids. It has been used for lowering blood sugar levels as well as anti-inflammtion, analgesic, expectorant, stimulant, and antibacterial effects. Krishna is a traditionl Ayurveda medicine.
