Mucuna Extract helps to support your calm and focus. Mucuna (Mucuna pruriens) is commonly known as Cowhage. It is a member of the Fabaceae/Leguminosae family. Mucuna is indigenous to the tropical regions of the world, especially India and the West Indies. The hair on the pods and seed can be used medicinally. A significant constituent of Mucuna is levodopa, or L-dopa. L-dopa is the precursor to dopamine, an essential neurotransmitter. Mucuna extract has been used for rheumatic disorders, muscular pain, anxiety, arthritis, and fever.

Food Sources Orally, Mucuna is well tolerated. However, the most common side effects were nausea and a sensation of abdominal distention.
