Indian Sage Leaf

Indian Sage is not to be confused with Sage. Indian Sage is commonly known as Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum). It is a member of the Asteraceae/Compositae family. The herb is indigenous to the eastern United States. The leaves and flowering parts can be used in medicinal formulas. Boneset contains flavonoids, sesquiterpene lactones, and polysaccharides.

Boneset is believed to have immunostimulant activity. It has been used as a diuretic and laxative. Boneset has also been used for the flu, fever, and nasal inflammation. Boneset is typically found as a homeopathic remedy.
