Nerve root (Cypripedium Pubescens) is a member of the Orchidaceae family. The plant is indigenous to the U.S. and Canada but has since been cultivated in Europe. The rhizome and root can both be used for medicinal purposes. Nerve root contains tannins, glycosides, resins, quinones, and a volatile oil. Nerve root is used for a variety of ailments such as anxiety, insomnia, agitation, and nervousness.
