Phytolacca Decandra

Pokeweed (Phytolacca Decandra) is a member of the Phytolaccaceae family. Both the root and berries can be used. The plant is native to the United States, although it can now be found in the Mediterranean countries. Pokeweed contains saponin glycosides, proteinaceaous mitogens, tannin, and resin. Pokeweed has been used for rheumatism and skin infections.
