Mezereum

Mezereon (Daphne mezereum) is a member of the Thymelaeaceae family. The bark of mezereon can be used for medicinal purposes. Although it is seldom used today (mezereon is a protected species), mezereon has some positive effects on the body. It contains the diterpenes mezerein and daphnetoxin. It is used in topical formulas for joint pain and to increase circulation. It can also appear in oral formulas for headaches and toothaches.
