Autumn crocus seed, tuber, and flower can be used for medicinal purposes. Colchicine is the most active constituent of Autumn crocus. It also contains other tropolone alkaloids, fatty oil, and starch. Autumn crocus is a traditional homeopathic remedy. It is used for gout, arthritis, and Mediterranean fever.
