Bloodroot contains isoquinolone alkaloids that demonstrate activities beneficial to the body. Bloodroot also contains resins and starch. It has been used for anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antiplaque properties. Bloodroot is also commonly used in topical formulas and dentistry.
