Chebulic myrobalan is a member of the Combretaceae family. It is one of three species of Terminalia. The fruit can be used in medicinal formulas. Chebulic myrobalan has demonstrated activities against the lipids. It also has astringent effects that influence bowel irregularity and indigestion. Chebulic myrobalan contains gallic acid.
