Paloondo
Paloondo (Larrea mexicana) is a shrub with green leaves and small yellow flowers. Paloondo can be found throughout the southern United States and Mexico. Both the leaves and flowers of Paloondo are used medicinally. It contains flavone and flavonol aglycones, larreic acid, guaiuretic acid lignans including nordihydroguaiaretic acid, and quercetin bioflavonoids. Paloondo has been used for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial actvities.
