THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE OHM VOL.2 is an ambient tribute and celebration of the

natural world. Listen as the African kora summons a lush feeling of drops of

light after a rain, while the warmth of the harmonica, the soulfulness of the

Middle Eastern oud, and the earthiness of the didgeridoo and the Native American

flute all, in turn, harmonize with sounds from the natural world, crickets,

whales, a mourning dove...as a subtly textured wave of sound, the Ohm drone

carries and lifts each featured instrument. This interweaving of natural and

animal sounds creates an unhurried dialogue between wind and string instruments,

and the earth sounds that inspired their voice.

The Music on this CD reflects the healing resonance of nature and the earth tone

of Ohm. In the 17th century, astronomer Johannes Kepler realized that planets

have elliptical orbits. This gave basis for the modern calculation of planetary

orbits and their associated musical tones or frequencies. Because the Ohm tone

is based on the measured frequency of the elliptical orbit of the Earth as it

travels around the sun through four seasons, we consider Ohm our Musical Center

of Gravity. Resonating with the earth tone of Ohm is grounding, centering and

energizing; it creates a feeling of spaciousness in your body and psyche,

releasing stress and tension.
