Astaxanthin, a member of the carotenoid family, is a powerful antioxidant. In vitro research demonstrates that astaxanthin is 10 times stronger than other carotenoids such as lutein, zeaxanthin, and beta-carotene, and 100 times stronger than alpha-tocopherol.
