Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC) is a naturally occurring substance that is necessary for the utilization of fats for energy. ALC’s primary function is to chaperone fatty acid molecules into the mitochondria so that they can be converted into ATP, the form of chemical energy used by cells.
