N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of the non-essential amino acid L-Cysteine. It is a sulfur-containing amino acid that acts as a stabilizer for the formation of protein structures, and is also necessary for the formation of protein structures, and is also necessary for the formation of glutathione. Molybdenum and Selenium are essential trace minerals that facilitate the production of several important enzymes.
N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) comes from the sulfur-containing amino acid cysteine, and makes up part of the tripeptide glutathione. Glutathione, along with NAC, are powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, which may damage the body's cells. NAC supplementation can help to increase levels of glutathione in the body.
This unique formula also contains Molybdenum, an essential trace element that functions as a cofactor in many biochemical reactions, and Selenium, another trace mineral that supports glutathione production.

Because NAC may help to maintain homocysteine levels within the healthy range, it may support a healthy vascular system. Cysteine supplements should not be taken by individuals with cystinuria, a kidney condition in which excessive amounts of cysteine (along with three other amino acids) are lost in the urine.
NAC may interact with many pharmaceutical medications including ACE inhibitors (medications commonly used to treat high blood pressure) and immunosuppressive medications (azathioprine, cyclophosphamide, prednisolone, or prednisone) . In addition, although NAC may interact with nitroglycerin and isosorbide (two medications commonly used to treat chest pain), this combination may also increase the risk of side effects such as severe headaches and may lead to abnormally low blood pressure.
Laboratory and animal studies have suggested that NAC may affect the body's metabolism of both cisplatin and doxorubicin.*
