Rooibos is a small bush with needle-like leaves, similar to pine needles, that grows only in a small region of South Africa. It is known by several different names, including bush tea, red bush tea, red tea and South African red tea, because it produces a very pleasant, mildly sweet red-colored tea. The health benefits of Rooibos tea are primarily due to its high level of antioxidants. The leaves also contain vitamin C, magnesium, manganese, calcium, potassium, iron and zinc.*
Both science and ardent fans claim numerous health benefits when used either internally or topically, including soothing headaches and easing digestion. It is known to aid relaxation and assist in restful sleep. It can be added to Symfre® tea if desired.*
