Prince of Peace Loquat Honey Syrup has been my go-to remedy for cough and throat issues for nearly a decade. The original formula was off the charts effective and would last for many months--and one jar was enough to get me through more two colds with cough. I gave away many jars to friends who also appreciated its effectiveness so I probably created many new customers for Prince of Peace. HOWEVER-- (read the Cons now!)

The new formula is seriously inferior to the old. Old formula was very thick and aromatic--so thick you had to drive a spoon into it. New formula is thin and runny--VERY watered down, and apparently does not contain the same amount of beneficial active ingredients either. I notice that the old formula listed "sucrose" as the first ingredient. Now the first ingredient is "maltose"--some kind of sugar? high fructose corn syrup? Not honey for sure! Seems like rather than raising the price they lowered the quality. I am now searching for a new cough remedy. This still works, sort of, but I'll vote with my pocketbook (or absence thereof) and look elsewhere on principle.
