Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside. Hesperidin is one of over four thousand flavonoids found in plants. It primarily comes from citrus fruits and is known as a citrus bioflavonoid. Hesperidin is closely related to quercetin, rutin, and dosmin, other citrus bioflavonoids. In a combination with others or alone, herperidin is most often used for vascular conditions such as hemrroids and varicose veins. Hesperidin seems to work by improving venuous tone, reducing stasis, restoring normal capillary permeability, and improving lymphatic drainage. Hesperidin appears to have anti-inflammation, antioxidant, and analgesic effects.
