Oleoresin Ginger is the solvent extract of ground dried rhizomes of Zingiber Officinale (ginger). Ginger originated in Sri Lanka. Oleoresin is extracted from various types of ginger, but the majority of all ginger oleoresins are derived from Nigerian and Jamaican ginger. Oleoresin refers to resins that are associated with volatile oils. Gingerol is one example from ginger.
Ginger has been used in China and other counties for years as a tonic. It is used for an upset stomach, indigestion, cramps, digestive problems, colds, fever, and menstrual discomfort. Ginger helps soothe sore throats and is an expectorant and antiseptic.
